The REAL deal

April 27, 2010

I want to be real.  Not fake, not one thing to one person, and someone else with another person.  I want people to trust me, have confidence in me and know that I mean what I say, and that my words measure up with my life.  I am so aware that I handle peoples hearts every day.  From the heart of my husband and  children to the hearts of the people I come in contact with in any shape or form.  When I tell people they need to do better, I want them to know that I need to do better myself.  When I give advice, I want them to know it is from a heart of love, not judgement or from my opinions.  When I come in contact with people, I want to leave them with their hearts feeling a little better, more encouraged, ready to face life…inspired.  When I think of all I want to do…all I need to live up to I sometimes get overwhelmed.  I turn to HIM, the one who changed every heart He touched.  Whether they aknowledged it or not…or even knew it or not.  So my prayer for this week is, “God, make me REAL!”  So when people think or see Crystal Roberts, all they see is Jesus!

God’s Ideal Idea

April 22, 2010

I want to live up to God’s ideal for me.  I believe that when He created me, He had an idea for me, a perfect idea not marred by any other motive but pure love for me.  His perfect idea flows directly into His perfect ideal as well.  The  purpose is finding God’s ideal for you.  It’s not easy, but once you find it, you will be in a place of complete peace.

Honestly?

April 17, 2010

Ok, since my blog is about my life, I have to be honest. I have not really gone on from the last fly lady steps I posted.  I have however had a clean house and have implemented some of my own things that I have known needed to change.  I have done the laundry daily, and that helps!  I have shined my sink, not consistently but quite often, daily at least.  I have also seen my disaster zone (which used to be our entire home) shrink to a table and the kids rooms after they play.  I feel better about myself and it’s funny, when I feel down or depressed I get up and clean and that makes me feel better!  I have also utilized the timer and that has been a lifesaver.  For the first time in my entire marriage our bed has been made every morning!  I am conquering my mess, which honestly had conquered me.

The biggest change I have focused on this week has been the laundry.  With 7 of us this is no easy task.  I have found that putting a load in the washer in the morning and squeeking it in when I have a few minutes saves me from the MOUNTAIN.  I fold and hang it up as soon as the dryer is done, I put all the folded things directly into a basket instead of sorting it into different baskets like I used to or simply taking it from the dryer and shoving it into the basket unfolded.  I save the sorting for later.  I wait until I have two baskets full, then I take them to my room, and sort all the laundry into different piles then put it in the baskets and put it away right away.  If I do not put it away right away, it is there when we need to go to bed and that is NOT convenient!  So sorting it on my bed does 2 things.  1. It makes sure it get’s put away. 2. It keeps it out of the living room which is where I used to take it to fold and the “stray” things would sometimes stay on the couch for quite awhile.  I keep that mess out of the living room especially since our main access door opens directly into the living room.  Sorting the already folded laundry makes the task much simpler and helps me to want to do it more since I know all I have to do is sort, not fold and sort and hang clothes up.  It also keeps the clothes from being wrinkled and really needing ironed from sitting in the baskets.  Jonathan loves the fact that his socks and T-shirts are where he needs them and life is much easier for mama when she tries to get kiddies ready for the day, everything is where it needs to be!  No more empty drawers and full baskets!

Be a Cheerleader

March 28, 2010

I realized today how much words can emcourage me!  Just plain words, it just depends how they are arranged.  Someone very close to me gave me a compliment and I was suprised by the positive emotions that flooded through me.  And it made me think, what are my words doing to others?  To my husband, my children, my family and friends?  Simple words can make someone’s day, insprire them to greatness or discourage their heart so much that they feel destroyed inside.  Amazing.  By simply stringing together letters, forming words,  making sentences and then speaking them we can affect someones moment, their day, maybe even their life!

I want to be a cheer leader, a cheer giver.  I will encourage people by the words I speak and be extremely cautious with what comes out of my mouth.  I realize that the words that are in my mouth are tied to the words I think in my heart.  So the first and most important step in this process is to guard my heart.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Frustration

March 27, 2010

My greatest frustration is that I am human.  I posess human emotions and too often I let my feeling determine my productivity.  Sometimes I get discouraged when those feelings keep me from doing what I know I should and make me want to stay inside my house and hide.  I can’t tell you exactly what from, perhaps just life.

But I am thankful God is greater and today I commit my emotions to God and my failures and faults and I ask him to come along side of me and help me through the “feelings” .            I give to Him my day, I give to Him my feelings.

My Purpose Driven Journey

March 23, 2010

I am a busy wife and a mommy to 5 beautiful children.
God has inspired my heart of how purpose can change the direction our lives take.  From our daily goals to our long term plans, a God given and God driven Purpose changes everything.

The definition of the word purpose speaks for itself.

  • The reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.
  • An intended or desired result; end; aim; goal.
  • Determination; resoluteness.  the subject in hand; the point at issue.  practical result, effect, or advantage: to act to good purpose. .
  • To set as an aim, intention, or goal for oneself.
  • To intend; design
  • To resolve (to do something): I have purposed to change my way of life radically.
